We find MORE captains chests, villianous skulls and a Chest of 1000 Grogs. Half the team jumps onto the island, the other combs the ocean floor (FYI if a ship sinks near a shallow enough area, the loot will sit on the floor and not despawn). We make our way back to the skull fort the finish what we started. To this day we don't know if they scuttled or sunk.
We fix our holes and by the time we turn back, the ship is gone. We pepper them with holes and they ram into a rock. Using the island as cover we bottleneck them between our ship and Devil's Ridge as a necessary turn comes up. With them on our tail we decide to turn around and fight. Clearly they're enraged and looking for a fight! We sell the loot immediately at the nearest outpost, with them on the periphery. Instead of finishing the fort they make direction for us.
We sailed off reasoning that we already had a skull fort's worth of loot. When I started to look up some truly glorious beards I. As we looted up the loot in the ocean still making progress on the skull fort they come right at us! We were so focused on the loot we didn't even see them coming. Neptunes beard was a project I created out of the dreams of having a huge mountain man beard. We load it up knowing that the galley would soon return to have their revenge. This Galley had done a skull fort while attempting to do a second. Upon further inspection we notice that theres a Stronghold Skull and Stronghold Chest. There are literally upwards of 10 captains chests, villianous skulls, exotic silks, etc. But upon closer inspection I notice they're chests! I get my buddy to come check this out. I look over in front of the ship as I inch toward my spot and see some dark spots in the water. We begin our assault on the skull fort, while I remain on the ship to properly park and repair second level holes. One of our guys jumps aboard the other vessel distracting them, and eventually their ship went down. We were well stocked, sails perfect, as we approached the fort, a Galley on sight already underway. We saw a skull fort and immediately headed that way after getting bored of grinding some OoS voyages. My Galley crew and I were sailing the seas on the USS Banana Boat. So this story happened a few days ago but I finally have time to write it out!
